The Universal Mother (Mother Teresa)

                             
In the year 1910,in a place called Skopje in Yugoslavia,was born a little girl named Agnes Gonxhi Bojaxhin.Her father owned a small farm.
At the age of 18,Agnes arrived in India and started her novitiate  in Darjeeling,a hill station in West Bengal.She settled in Calcutta as a teacher  at a convent school.Later on she appeared as a mother.In 1931 she adopted the name Teresa.In 1946 she felt an inner urge to start a new experiment to serve humanity. Teresa took Indian citizen in 1948.She also adopted Indian dress,and clothed herself in sari. At Kalighat she opened up a home  for the homeless,the shelter  for the sufferers,for the poor,the infirm,the disabled and the orphans.The sister of the Missionaries work also among the drug addicts,alcoholics and destitute in many countries.In 1957 Mother Teresa opened a home for lepers on Calcutta.
Mother Teresa set up nearly 570 homes for the poor, spread in over 125 countries both in the West and the East.Gradually  ‘Nirmal Hriday’,the institution spread its wings all over the world to help the distressed in various ways. . Mother Teresa was honored with numerous titles and awards.
In 1979,she received the Nobel Prize for peace and Bharat Ratna  in 1980.The great soul left the world on 5th September ,1997.She herself was more a goddess than an angel.She was the apostle of love.She was Mother Teresa.-our mother .Without her ,the whole world today has become orphan.
